There has been a lot of controversy over the last few weeks about increased security at Airports. Thanksgiving is the most traveled day of the year and the Airports were unaffected by these new protests. There were just as many people flying as in past years. People complained and held up signs and even passed out pamphlets but none of this created any delays. "We gotta get to Grandma's," said Daniel Anderson. People complain, but in reality, they are still going to the Airports.
Why do people take it so personally when there is increased security at the Airports?
Will the government ever consider these complaints and go about security in a different way?

Some people believe that the new pat-downs are an invasion of privacy but I think people just need to suck it up and realize that this is better than a potential terrorist attack.
I agree. I don't see why people complain, when the new security is for their own good. They are complaining now because they think it is an invasion or privacy, but if an accident were to happen, the protesters would be the first ones to criticize the airports for not doing a good enough job.
ReplyDeleteThe airports are trying very hard to increase security without making it a slower process. The new complete body scan seems like a good idea because it is completely impersonal and the person scanning your body will never see who you really are. I personally would rather get scanned then patted down by someone. I think some people are worried about the radiation from the new scanners. I wonder how much of a danger that actually is?
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of the most ridiculous things. If it is between you airplane getting blown up or not, maybe you should just walk through the scanner. Every there is a change in security it just gives people another reason to get upset and defensive. People are worried about people seeing their naked bodies. The people looking at the images are in another room where they cannot associate the person to the picture. Personally, I do not want to die so I'm all for the scanners.
ReplyDeleteI agree! People complain all the time that terrorism can be blamed on airports lack of security and now that they are making an effort to make our lives safer people are upset again. Although I do think that the vigorus body pat downs may be a little too much, I am all for the scanners! There are plenty many other things in our world today whose radiation is probably much worse, and that does not affect the population at all. Atleast this small amount of radiation might safe your life!
